On 6. January 2014 has Sherlock Holmes his 160. Birthday. Sherlock is immortal! For years he is inspiration of tenths of adaptations. My favorite one BBC Sherlock puts Sherlock Holmes into 21. century.
Did you ever think how strange it actually is - we usually say "I love Agatha Christie and Sherlock Holmes" (why not Arthur Conan Doyle?)... and there are several Societies of Agatha Christie and Societies of Sherlock Holmes (why not of ACD?) all over the world... Is it because Doyle's character had literaly grown through his creator...? It's probably one of the reasons why ACD "killed" his Sherlock Holmes that he was jealous a bit on his success... success which lasts already more than one century.../
6. Januára 2014 mal Sherlock Holmes 160. narodeniny. Sherlock je nesmrteľný! Roky je inšpiráciou pre desiatky adaptácií. Mojou najobľúbenejšou je BBC Sherlock, v nej Sherlocka Holmesa presadili do 21. storočia.
Zamysleli ste sa niekedy, aké je to vlastne zvláštne - zvykneme povedať "Mám rada Agathu Christie a Sherlocka Holmesa" (prečo nie Arthura Conana Doylea?)... a je veľa Spoločností Agathy Christie a Spoločností Sherlocka Holmesa (prečo nie ACD?) po celom svete... Je to tým, že Doyleova postava doslova prerástla svojho stvoriteľa...? Jednou z príčin, prečo ACD "zabil" svojho Sherlocka Holmesa asi bude, že trošku žiarlil na jeho úspech... úspech, ktorý trvá už viac ako jedno storočie...
